CPAP Machines
Auto CPAP, BiPAP, travel machines and device selection
What is the difference between CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines?
A CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine delivers a single, constant pressure throughout the night. An APAP (Automatic Positive Airway Pressure) machine automatically adjusts pressure breath-by-breath based on your needs — most users find this more comfortable. A BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) machine provides two pressure levels: higher when you inhale and lower when you exhale, typically prescribed for more complex sleep-disordered breathing.
Do I need a prescription to buy a CPAP or BiPAP machine?
Yes. In the UK, CPAP and BiPAP devices are classified as prescription-only medical devices. We may request a copy of your prescription or a clinician letter before dispatch. Accessories such as masks, tubing, filters, water chambers, and headgear can be purchased without a prescription.
Which CPAP machine brands do you stock?
We carry devices from the most trusted names in sleep therapy, including ResMed (AirSense 11, AirSense 10 series), Löwenstein Medical (prisma SMART and prisma 20A), and other leading manufacturers. Our range covers auto CPAP, fixed-pressure CPAP, BiPAP, and travel machines.
What is a travel CPAP machine and is it suitable for nightly use?
Travel CPAP machines like the ResMed AirMini are compact, lightweight devices designed for portability. They typically offer the same therapeutic pressures as full-size units but may lack a built-in humidifier. Many users do use travel machines as their primary device, but if comfort features like heated humidification are important, a full-size machine is usually better for home use.
Is "In Stock" on your website truly available in the UK?
Yes. "In Stock" indicates physical availability at our Leeds depot (LS12 4HP). All inventory is held and dispatched from this secure UK facility. If an item is on backorder, we indicate expected timings on the product page and will email you if your placed order is affected.
CPAP Masks
Full face, nasal, nasal pillow masks and sizing
What types of CPAP masks are available?
There are three main types: Full Face Masks cover both the nose and mouth — ideal if you breathe through your mouth. Nasal Masks cover only the nose, offering a balance of seal and comfort. Nasal Pillow Masks sit at the nostrils with minimal contact, perfect for side sleepers or those who feel claustrophobic.
How do I choose the right mask size?
Most manufacturers provide a sizing template you can print and hold against your face. If unsure, check the sizing guide on the product page or email us at info@cpapsupply.co.uk before ordering.
Are masks from different brands compatible with any CPAP machine?
In most cases, yes. Standard CPAP masks use a universal 22mm hose connector. However, some travel devices (like the ResMed AirMini) use proprietary connectors and may require specific masks or adaptors. Always check compatibility notes on the product page.
How often should I replace my CPAP mask?
The full mask assembly should be replaced every 12 months, cushions and pillows every 3–6 months, and headgear every 6–12 months. Regular replacement maintains seal performance, hygiene, and therapy effectiveness.
My mask leaks air — what should I do?
Ensure headgear straps aren't over-tightened, wash the cushion with warm water and mild soap, and check if the cushion is worn or cracked. Worn cushions are the most frequent cause — replacement cushions are available individually.
Replacement Parts
Cushions, headgear, frames and components
Can I buy just a replacement cushion instead of a whole mask?
Absolutely. We sell individual replacement parts including cushions, pillows, headgear, frames, and elbow clips. You can purchase just the component you need — saving money and reducing waste.
How do I know which replacement cushion fits my mask?
Each replacement cushion specifies the exact compatible mask models. For example, the ResMed AirFit F20 cushion only fits AirFit F20 and AirFit F20 For Her masks. Check the product title and compatibility section.
How often should I replace CPAP filters?
Disposable filters (white, fine-particle) should be replaced every 2–4 weeks. Reusable filters (grey/blue foam) can be washed weekly and replaced every 6 months.
Do you stock replacement water chambers and tubing?
Yes. We carry replacement humidifier water chambers, standard tubing (15mm and 22mm), and heated tubing (ClimateLineAir for ResMed). Water chambers should be replaced every 6–12 months, and tubing every 3–6 months.
Accessories & Comfort
Cleaning, humidification, comfort items and therapy aids
How should I clean my CPAP equipment?
Daily, empty and rinse your water chamber. Weekly, wash your mask cushion, headgear, tubing, and water chamber with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Allow everything to air dry. We also stock CPAP cleaning wipes, tube brushes, and sanitising solutions.
What water should I use in my CPAP humidifier?
Use distilled water. Tap water contains minerals that leave calcium deposits and could potentially be inhaled. Distilled water extends chamber life and keeps therapy clean.
Do CPAP pillows make a difference?
Yes. CPAP-specific pillows have contoured cutouts that accommodate your mask and tubing, reducing pressure on the seal and preventing leaks — especially for side sleepers.
What is a chinstrap and do I need one?
A chinstrap holds your jaw closed during sleep, preventing mouth breathing and air leak. If you use a nasal mask and your mouth falls open at night, a chinstrap can help. Alternatively, consider a full face mask.
Power & Travel
Portable batteries, travel chargers and power adapters
Can I use my CPAP machine abroad?
Most modern CPAP machines have universal voltage power supplies (100–240V, 50/60Hz), so they work anywhere. You'll just need a plug adaptor for the destination country.
What portable battery options do you offer?
We stock portable CPAP batteries from Medistrom and other brands — ideal for camping, flights, or power outages. Check each battery's product page for compatibility charts and estimated run time.
Can I use my CPAP on an aeroplane?
CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use. Most airlines allow you to carry your CPAP as a medical device. Contact your airline in advance and remember to empty your humidifier before boarding.
Do I need a DC power adapter for my CPAP?
If powering from a car, caravan, or boat, you'll need a DC/DC converter or manufacturer-specific 12V/24V adapter. Never use a standard mains inverter. We stock compatible DC adapters for popular models.

Return eligibility, hygiene rules and refund process
What is your returns policy?
We offer a 30-day change-of-mind return policy for brand-new items, with conditions based on the item's condition:
• Unopened & unused — eligible for a full product refund. Item must be sealed and in perfect resale condition.
• Opened but unused — returns accepted with a 40% restocking deduction to cover inspection and repackaging, as the item may need to be resold as used.
• Opened & used — unfortunately, no returns or refunds are available due to hygiene, safety, and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
• CPAP masks & accessories — for hygiene reasons, opened masks, tubing, humidifier chambers, and similar consumables are non-returnable once the seal is broken.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend carefully considering before opening any device — once opened, even briefly, it can no longer be resold as new.
