Frequently Asked Questions
Full Face Masks cover both the nose and mouth, making them ideal for mouth breathers, back sleepers or those requiring high pressure settings. Best for users who need a secure seal regardless of sleep position.
Nasal Masks cover only the nose, offering a balance of comfort and effectiveness. Recommended for side sleepers, active sleepers or those who prefer a less bulky fit.
Nasal Pillow Masks feature a minimalist design with soft cushions that seal at the nostrils. Ideal for those with facial hair, people who want an open field of vision or those who feel claustrophobic in larger masks.
Choosing the right mask is crucial for effective CPAP therapy. Many leading brands like ResMed, Philips Respironics and Fisher & Paykel offer a range of designs to ensure comfort and compliance.
Most CPAP masks work with any machine thanks to their standard 22mm hose connection. The AirMini Travel CPAP is the exception, featuring a unique tubing connector that differs from standard CPAP machines. However, our Zephair universal adapter lets you use any mask you prefer with the AirMini.
Use the manufacturer's sizing guide. Most brands like ResMed, Philips Respironics and Fisher & Paykel offer printable or physical sizing templates to ensure accuracy. You can find sizing guides in the Tips & Resources section on each product page.
Consider your facial shape and sleep position. A mask should fit snugly without pressure points. Side sleepers may need a smaller, contoured fit, while full face masks should sit securely for mouth breathers.
A good fit prevents air leaks, reduces skin irritation and enhances therapy effectiveness.
Yes, in addition to the three main types there are several alternative styles.
Hybrid Masks combine the best features of full face and nasal pillow masks, creating a gentle seal both under your nose and around your mouth. Ideal if you want the security of a full face mask with a lighter, less intrusive feel.
Nasal Prong Masks offer a minimalist approach with soft prongs that rest just inside your nostrils. Perfect if you prefer a barely-there sensation while you sleep.
Oral Masks deliver air through your mouth rather than your nose. A great option if you primarily breathe through your mouth or find nasal masks uncomfortable.
Total Face Masks distribute pressure evenly across your entire face. Particularly helpful if you experience sensitivity to pressure points or need higher pressure settings.
Headgear-Free Masks like the Bleep DreamPort use gentle adhesive technology instead of traditional straps, offering complete freedom from headgear while maintaining an effective seal.
Mask cushions: replace every 1 to 3 months to maintain optimal performance. A worn cushion can compromise your therapy through air leaks and reduced comfort.
Headgear: replace every 3 to 6 months to ensure a comfortable, secure fit without pressure marks. Elastic headgear stretches over time and Velcro fit tabs may start to lose their grip.
Time for a replacement? Watch for discolouration, odour, residue build-up, loss of strap elasticity, increased skin irritation or frequent air leaks.

It is possible to use a nasal or nasal pillow mask even if you breathe through your mouth. Many customers find success by pairing their nasal mask with a chin strap or mouth tape to keep the mouth closed during sleep.
This combination helps ensure the therapy air pressure stays consistent throughout the night, giving you the full benefits of your CPAP therapy. Contact our team to explore which option might work best for your sleeping style.
The ResMed AirMini uses a proprietary tubing connector, so only specific ResMed masks are directly compatible out of the box.
However, with the Zephair universal adapter you can connect virtually any CPAP mask to the AirMini using a standard 22mm hose. This gives you the freedom to use your preferred mask, whether full face, nasal or nasal pillow, while travelling with the AirMini.
Due to hygiene reasons, CPAP masks cannot be returned once opened, even if they have not been used. We strongly recommend checking the manufacturer's sizing guide before placing your order to ensure you select the correct size.
Unopened masks in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days for an exchange or full refund under our change-of-mind policy.
Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If you are exchanging for a different size or product, shipping costs for the new item will also be covered by the customer.
