CPAP Mask Parts Collection
Frequently Asked Questions
Rather than replacing your entire mask, you can purchase individual components to keep your mask performing at its best. Common replacement parts include:
Cushions and pillows that create the seal against your face or nostrils.
Headgear straps that hold the mask securely in place.
Elbow connectors that attach the tubing to your mask frame.
Chinstraps that keep your mouth closed during nasal or nasal pillow therapy.
Mask frames that form the main structure of your mask.
Replacing individual parts is more cost-effective than buying a complete mask and helps maintain consistent therapy performance.
CPAP mask cushions should be replaced every 1 to 3 months depending on usage and care. Over time, the silicone softens and loses its shape, which can lead to air leaks, reduced comfort and less effective therapy.
Signs it is time to replace your cushion:
The cushion feels flat, stiff or has lost its flexibility.
You notice visible discolouration, cracks or tears.
You are experiencing increased air leaks despite adjusting your headgear.
Skin irritation or red marks appear where the cushion sits on your face.
Regular replacement is one of the simplest ways to maintain a comfortable, effective seal.
CPAP headgear should be replaced every 3 to 6 months. The elastic material stretches over time with nightly use, which can result in a loose fit, over-tightening to compensate, and uncomfortable pressure marks.
Signs it is time to replace your headgear:
The straps feel stretched out and no longer hold the mask snugly.
Velcro tabs are losing their grip and no longer fasten securely.
You are tightening the straps more than usual to prevent leaks.
You notice fraying, discolouration or visible wear on the fabric.
Fresh headgear restores a comfortable, secure fit without the need to over-tighten.
The elbow connector is the swivel joint that attaches your CPAP tubing to the mask frame. It allows the tubing to rotate freely so you can move during sleep without pulling the mask off your face.
Many elbows also contain a built-in exhalation port with small vent holes that allow exhaled air to escape.
Replace your elbow connector every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if you notice cracking, a stiff swivel that no longer rotates smoothly, or blocked vent holes that cannot be cleaned.
Elbow connectors are mask-specific, so always check compatibility with your exact mask model before ordering.
A CPAP chinstrap wraps around the top of your head and under your chin to keep your mouth closed during sleep. It is designed to be worn alongside your CPAP mask.
You may benefit from a chinstrap if you use a nasal mask or nasal pillow mask and experience mouth breathing or mouth leak during the night. Mouth leak reduces therapy effectiveness by allowing pressurised air to escape.
Chinstraps are generally universal and work with most mask types. They are a simple, affordable solution before considering a switch to a full face mask.
Replace your chinstrap every 3 to 6 months, or when the elastic loses its stretch and no longer holds your jaw comfortably in place.
CPAP mask parts such as cushions, headgear and elbows are designed for specific mask models. A cushion for the ResMed AirFit F20, for example, will not fit the ResMed AirFit F30i.
To find the right part, check the name and model number printed on your current mask frame. You can then search for that model on our website or use the compatibility information listed on each product page.
If you are unsure which parts you need, contact our team and we will help you find the correct replacements for your mask.
Cushions: wipe down daily with a damp cloth or CPAP-safe wipe to remove facial oils and residue. Once a week, wash the cushion in warm water with mild soap, rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reattaching.
Headgear: hand wash weekly in warm water with gentle soap. Do not place headgear in a washing machine or tumble dryer, as this can damage the elastic and Velcro. Allow it to air dry fully before use.
Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners or abrasive scrubbing, as these can break down the silicone and fabric over time.
No. Replacement mask parts such as cushions, headgear, elbows, chinstraps and mask frames do not require a prescription.
You can order these items directly from our website at any time.
Due to hygiene reasons, CPAP mask parts such as cushions, headgear and elbows cannot be returned once opened, even if they have not been used. We strongly recommend checking compatibility with your mask model before placing your order.
Unopened items in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days for an exchange or full refund under our change-of-mind policy.
Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If you are exchanging for a different item, shipping costs for the replacement will also be covered by the customer.
